Using the Chat Tool During Your 1:1 Session

How can I use the chat in my sessions?

The Chat Tool allows you and your coach to type messages during your 1:1 coaching session.

It’s a helpful way to share examples, clarify words, or save useful phrases during the conversation. The chat also includes a translation feature that can help you quickly understand unfamiliar words.

How to open the Chat Tool

You can access the chat during your session in just a few steps.

  1. Join your Talaera 1:1 session

  2. Click the “Chat” button in the top-right corner of the screen

  3. Start typing your message

Both you and your coach can send messages during the session.

What the chat is used for

The chat is commonly used to:

  • write down useful vocabulary or phrases

  • share links or examples

  • clarify spelling or wording

  • capture key expressions from the session

Some learners also use the chat to save important corrections or improved sentences that they want to review later.

Translate messages if needed

If you see a word or sentence you don’t understand, you can use the translation icon next to the message to translate it into your native language This can help you quickly understand new vocabulary during the session.

How to review the chat after the session

You can view the chat messages later along with your session feedback.

Option 1: From your Dashboard

  1. Scroll to Homework & Feedback

  2. Find the session you want to review

  3. Click View Homework & Feedback

  4. Scroll to the Session Chat section

Option 2: From My Progress

  1. Go to My Progress

  2. Find the session

  3. Click View Homework & Feedback

  4. Scroll down to Session Chat to see the messages from the session.

Tip: Use the chat to capture useful language

Many learners use the chat to save phrases they want to remember, such as:

  • better ways to express an idea

  • improved email sentences

  • useful workplace vocabulary

You can review these later when preparing for meetings, emails, or presentations.
