Here are some tips on features to share with your students during their platform walkthrough during the first session. Getting them excited about the platform is key to helping them leverage their learning both during and in between their sessions with you.

In-session tools

Briefly show your student the different features they can use during the sessions

β†’ Speech to text & translation. This tool allows students to see the written script of what their teacher is saying in real-time. Then, students can highlight the parts they don’t understand to get an instant translation into their native language (awesome for lower level students!)

β†’ Screen sharing. By clicking in the share screen button, you are able to show the student what you can see and vice versa. If the student is unsure, try it with them.

β†’ Shared workspace. By clicking in the share screen button, you are able to show the student what you can see and vice versa. If the student is unsure, try it with them.

β†’ Chat support. This option is only for tech issues during sessions. For everything else, they should contact scheduling@talaera.com.

My Dashboard

Outside of the session, this is what your students see:

  • My Goals - Students Get a checkmark for each day they log in to learn on the platform (including 1:1 sessions, Speaking Practice sessions, or in the Catalog)

Upcoming Sessions - Any scheduled sessions

  • Past Sessions - Have them click "View Feedback" to see their feedback/homework from past sessions

  • Group Speaking Practice - Feel free to share more on what these are here
