Talk to Tally is Talaera’s AI communication coach designed to help you practice professional English anytime.

You can use Tally to practice real workplace communication situations such as meetings, presentations, and explaining ideas clearly.

Start a practice session

  1. Click Talk to Tally in the main menu

  2. Start typing or speaking your message

This will open the practice interface where you can start a conversation. You can begin practicing by:

  • speaking to Tally (make sure voice is enabled)

  • typing a message

  • selecting a suggested scenario

For example, you could click Start conversation and say:

  • “Help me prepare for a meeting update.”

  • “How can I explain this idea more clearly?”

  • “Practice a presentation with me.”

Tally will respond and guide the conversation.

You can continue the discussion just like a normal conversation. Ask follow-up questions, refine your ideas, or try saying things in different ways. Tally will respond and provide suggestions to help improve your communication.

How often to use Talk to Tally

Most learners receive around 20,000 Tally credits per month. This typically allows for about ~5-minute practice sessions, 3 times per week.

This rhythm works well because it allows you to practice regularly, apply what you learned at work, and return with new questions or situations.

Short, frequent practice sessions tend to be more effective than long sessions.

What happens during a Tally session

While you practice, Tally may provide additional learning tools.

Summaries

Tally may generate short summaries that highlight key phrases, useful language, or communication strategies from the conversation.

Exercises

Sometimes Tally will suggest short exercises during the conversation, such as choosing the correct phrase or improving a sentence. These quick activities help you immediately apply what you're learning.

Session report

At the end of your practice, Tally may generate a session report that summarizes what you practiced and highlights areas to continue working on. Reviewing this report can help you reinforce what you learned and guide your next practice session.

Tip: Practice real work situations

Talk to Tally works best when you bring real examples from your work, such as:

  • something you want to say in a meeting

  • a message you need to write

  • an explanation you want to make clearer

  • a presentation you are preparing

Practicing real situations helps make your learning more practical and immediately useful.

Practice anytime

You can use Talk to Tally whenever you want to practice - before a meeting, between coaching sessions, or when you want to test how to express an idea.

Regular practice helps build confidence and fluency over time.
