Talaera Connect sessions are designed to be interactive, respectful, and supportive conversations.
Following a few simple guidelines helps create a great experience for everyone.
Join on time
Speaking sessions start on time. Try to join a few minutes early so you can settle in before the discussion begins. Joining on time helps the session run smoothly and ensures you don’t miss the introduction to the topic.
Keep your camera on if possible
If your connection allows, try to keep your camera on during the session.
Seeing other participants helps create a more natural conversation and makes the session feel more like an in-person discussion.
If you’re unable to use your camera, that’s okay, just participate in the conversation as much as you can.
Participate actively
Talaera Connect is a conversation-based session, so participation is encouraged.
You don’t need perfect English to contribute. The goal is simply to practice expressing your ideas.
You can participate by:
sharing your perspective
asking questions
reacting to other participants’ ideas
building on the conversation
Respect different perspectives
Participants come from different cultures, countries, and professional backgrounds.
Be open to different viewpoints and allow everyone the opportunity to speak.
Listening respectfully is just as important as sharing your own ideas.
Don’t worry about mistakes
Talaera Connect is a safe space to practice English.
Everyone in the session is learning, and mistakes are a natural part of improving.
Focus on communicating your ideas rather than trying to speak perfectly.
Support the group discussion
To keep the conversation flowing smoothly:
avoid interrupting others
keep comments reasonably concise so others can participate
use the chat if you'd like to add a quick comment or question
Your coach will guide the discussion and make sure everyone has a chance to speak.
Enjoy the conversation
Talaera Connect is an opportunity to meet interesting professionals from around the world while practicing English.
Be curious, open-minded, and enjoy the exchange of ideas.
